The Ph.D. in Business program prepares students for scholarly careers in research and teaching. Our total program size is fewer than 40 students, which allows for extensive one-to-one interaction between students and faculty, and all required courses and teaching assignments are held on campus.Graduate Program. The VCU Department of History has provided a dynamic program for graduate study since 1994. Its flexibility, award-winning faculty, and urban research environment provide multiple scholarly and public history opportunities for a diverse student body.Doctoral Program. The department offers an opportunity to obtain an interdisciplinary Ph.D. in Nanoscience and Nanotechnology through a program that is managed jointly by the Department of Physics and the Department of Chemistry.In addition, some of our students obtain Chemistry Ph.D. degrees through a Chemical Physics program that is managed by the Department of Chemistry.


Graduate programs are administered by the individual departments, schools and centers with assistance from the Graduate School. Major coordination of the various degree programs is performed by the University Graduate Council, which is chaired by the dean of the Graduate School.Since our first graduate in 1975, we have graduated over 285 Ph.D.'s in clinical psychology who have taken faculty, staff, administrative, or practitioner positions in psychology programs housed in university departments of Arts and Sciences and medical schools, community mental health centers, clinics, hospitals, prisons, private practice, and state departments of mental health.
